Waverly defensive tackle Trevor Brown enjoyed a strong junior season in 2020, racking up 59 tackles with an eye-popping 32 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.
The 6-foot-2, 270-pounder will be attending camps this June as he searches for his first scholarship offer. He’ll be at South Dakota State on June 14 and also North Dakota State and maybe Iowa State later this month.
“I’ve been really excited. This summer is going to be really busy with camps and stuff, and I’m looking forward to see where my future goes,” Brown said. “I’m definitely going to Nebraska’s camp (OL/DL Pipeline Camp on June 19), and Army was going to have a camp I was invited to so I was going to try to go up there to West Point.”
Bemidji State and Northwest Missouri State have been in contact with Brown. Army has been in his ear lately, too.
“They (Army) gave me a FaceTime call a couple weeks ago and showed me their practice fields and other things,” Brown said.
In preparation for June, Brown has been in the weight room working on his strength so he can show coaches what he can do. He’s ready to put a meniscus tear from his sophomore year behind him as well.
“I’m definitely looking forward to showing everyone that it (injury) hasn’t affected me,” Brown said. “I’ve been working on my game, doing a lot of drills and hitting it hard in the weight room.”
