Testing Stars From Warren Academy’s Underclassmen Showcase

The Warren Academy’s Underclassmen Showcase powered by Nebpreps took place in Omaha last Saturday. Athletes were separated into three groups: offensive and defensive lines; running backs, tight ends and linebackers; and receivers and defensive backs.

Here are some of the more notable testing numbers. All times were recorded by laser timing. More on the surprises from each group later. 

Offensive Line/Defensive Line

Sam Sledge, 2023, Creighton Prep, OL: Sledge measured at 6-foot-3.5 and 256 pounds and recorded a pro agility of 4.34 seconds and a 10-yard split of 1.87 with a 5.31 40-yard dash. His vertical jump measured at 27.6 inches. Sledge played tight end until late in the season last fall then moved to an interior lineman spot where it seems to be his future after high school. 

Dawson Fox, 2022, St. Paul, OL: Fox (6-4) weighed in at 289 pounds. His 10-yard split was 1.57 with a personal best 40-yard dash of 5.54. His pro agility was timed at 4.54 seconds and a vertical jump of 27.9 inches. 

Kade Pieper, 2023, Norfolk Catholic, DL: Pieper measured at 6-2.5 and 228 pounds. He had a defensive-line best with a 32.4-inch vertical, 1.81 10-yard split, 5.20 40-yard dash and 4.66 pro agility. 

Running Back

CharMar Brown, 2023, Creighton Prep: Brown was the most impressive running back in the group. The junior weighed in at 195 pounds and was 5-11. He ran a 4.76 40-yard dash and a 1.62 10-yard split with a 4.47 pro agility. His 35.6-inch vertical was the best of any running back. 

Ben Warren, 2022, Elkhorn South: Warren ran the fastest 40-yard dash of his group at 4.66 seconds. 

Tight End

Ben Brahmer, 2023, Pierce: The Nebraska commit ran a group-best 5.08 40-yard dash. His 10-yard split was 1.77 seconds and he recorded a 4.46 second pro agility. He measured right at 6-6 and 194 pounds and recorded a 30.8-inch vertical jump. 

Koy Wilke, 2022, Elkhorn South: Wilke had the best 10-yard split of any tight end at 1.03 seconds. His 40 time was 5.12 and a group-best of 4.36 in the pro agility. He showed some explosiveness with a 33.6-inch vertical jump at 6-3.75 and 201 pounds. 

Linebacker

Kaden Johnson, 2022, Papillion-La Vista: Johnson measured at 6-1.5 and 207 pounds. He ran a 4.87 40-yard dash with a 1.71 second 10-yard split and a 4.36 pro agility. His 34.3-inch vertical jump was a group best. 

Jace Chrisman, 2023, Grand Island: His 4.27 pro agility was a group best and he measured at 6-1, 220 pounds. His best 40-yard dash was 5.14 with a 1.78 10-yard split with a 32.9-inch vertical jump. 

Wide Receiver

Daevonn Hall, 2024, Bellevue West: Hall recorded the best vertical jump of the receiver group at 34.7 inches. At 6-2 he weighed in at 179 pounds and ran a 4.87 40-yard dash with a 1.69 10-yard split with a 4.28 pro agility. 

Kaden Miller, 2022, Kearney: Miller had the second fastest 40-yard dash (4.72) of any receiver. He measured at 5-10, 165 pounds and had a 32.4-inch vertical with a 4.30 pro agility and 1.66 10-yard split. 

Kale Consbruck, 2022, Norris: Consbruck ran the fastest 40-time (4.7) and 10-yard split (1.57) of any receiver. His vertical jump was 31.6 inches and pro agility was timed at 4.26.

Defensive Back

Corbin Ford, 2023, Elkhorn South: Ford ran the fastest 40-time of any athlete at 4.60 seconds. His 10-yard split was 1.54 seconds and he had a 4.29 pro agility at 5-11.5 and 178 pounds. He also recorded a 34.4-inch vertical jump.
