With the state championships for soccer, baseball, girls’ tennis and track completed, boys’ golf is the final spring sport to hold its state event.
The Classes A, B, C and D two-day tournaments will begin Tuesday at four different locations.
Here’s a quick look at some of the top players who will be competing on the state level.
Christopher Atkinson, senior, Gretna: Atkinson, an Omaha pledge, shot a 67 at the A-1 district at Meadowlark Hills.
Colton Stock, senior, Gretna: Atkinson’s teammate Stock carded a 68 at districts.
Charlie Hoiberg, senior, Lincoln Pius X: Fresh off helping lead the Thunderbolts’ basketball team to the Class A state tournament, Hoiberg had success on the links. He shot a 68 at Holmes Golf Course in the A-3 district meet.
Caden Peppmuller, senior, Lincoln Northeast: Peppmuller shot a 69, one shot behind Hoiberg, at the A-3 district meet.
Jason Kolbas, senior, Lincoln Pius X: Kolbas, an Iowa Western recruit, finished with a 69 at the A-3 district meet and was the third player to card a sub-70 at Holmes Golf Course.

Ryan Seevers, sophomore, York: The top Duke golfer is Seevers, a young and talented player who shot a 74 at his district meet at the York Country Club.
Emmanuel Jensen, freshman, York: Jensen is another young player doing well for head coach Dan Malleck’s team. He also shot a 74 like his teammate Seevers at the B-3 district meet.
Trenton Baehr, sophomore, Beatrice: Not one senior had a top-four individual score at the B-3 district meet at York. Baehr placed third with a 74.
Jakeb Scherer, senior, Gothenburg: Scherer was the B-4 district champ with a score of 73 at Hillside Golf Course in Sidney.
Payton Craw, senior, McCook: Craw was the Bison’s top golfer at the B-4 district meet with a 73.
Alex Schademann, sophomore, Fillmore Central: Not only is Schademann a state-medaling wrestler, he can golf, too. His 72 at Crooked Creek Golf Club was good enough for the C-1 district meet championship.
Boston Pentico, senior, Wahoo Bishop Neumann: Pentico fired a 73 at Crooked Creek in Lincoln, which gave him a runner-up finish behind Schademann.
Brady Davis, junior, Fremont Archbishop Bergan: Davis’ 70 at the C-2 district meet at Oakland Golf Club was tops in the field, which meant a district title.
Nick Fleming, freshman, Columbus Scotus: Not far behind Davis was Fleming, who shot a 72 for runner-up at the C-2 district.
Carson Thomsen, junior, Oakland-Craig: Thomsen carded a 72 at his home course during districts to help guide his team to state.
