Lincoln Pius X and Creighton Prep took a hold on the Class A state team title race on the first game of competition of the NSAA State Golf Tournament at Norfolk Country Club on Tuesday.

The Bolts placed three players — Kody Sander, Jason Kolbas and Charlie Hoiberg — at 2-under par 70 and had a team total of 4-under par 284. The Bolt trio is chasing Prep senior Jacob Boor, who birdied five of his first six holes en route to a 4-under 68 to lead the individual race.

Iowa State commit and 2019 champion Luke Gutchewski of Elkhorn Mt. Michael leads the Class B race at Elks Country Club in Columbus, with Rockney Peck (Wisner-Pilger) and Brendon Walker (Mullen) leading Class C and D, respectively. Mt. Michael, Columbus Scotus and North Platte St. Pat’s lead the team races.
