Skutt’s Brack Chooses Yotes

Skutt Catholic senior Jake Brack has ended his recruitment. Wednesday the 6-foot-9 forward announced his commitment to South Dakota.

“It (USD) was everything I was looking for. It felt perfect,” he said of his commitment. “The family feel, the team and the academics was perfect for me.”

Brack unofficially visited Vermillion Wednesday and clearly liked what he saw and heard from the Coyotes. After watching the team practice and touring the facilities, USD head coach Eric Peterson offered him a scholarship.

“We were talking with coach Peterson in his office and when he offered I said yes,” Brack said. “I am super excited to be committed there and everything was perfect with what I was looking for.”

Brack’s relationship with Coyote assistant coach Pat Eberhart played a big part in his commitment.

“Coach Eberhart started recruiting me almost a year ago when he was at Omaha,” Brack said. “He has always been there for me and I have a great relationship with him. I am super grateful he has continued the relationship with me.”

Brack chose USD over offers from Stonehill (Easton, MA.) and Fairleigh Dickinson. Staying close to home and playing in the Summit League were two things playing in USD’s advantage.

“I really wouldn’t have minded going far away from Omaha but it is definitely nice being close to home for sure.”

The senior forward took an official visit to Stonehill on Monday and spent Wednesday in Vermillion. He was scheduled to officially visit Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday.
