As a leader in innovative Nebraska High School sports coverage via streaming, video, social media and student education, Striv owner Taylor Siebert announced today the addition of Nebraska prep recruiting expert Mike Sautter to the Striv and Nebpreps teams.
“Mike and I met at State Basketball in 2010,” Siebert said, “and we’ve become great friends through our passion to help share the stories of schools, coaches and athletes in Nebraska.
“We are thrilled to have Mike join our team. He has done so much for prep sports in the state of Nebraska the last 10 years and we are excited to allow him to do what he does best through our platform.”
While the platform may be a bit different than what you have seen in the last four years through his work at the Omaha World-Herald, Sautter’s dedication to high school athletes remains unquestioned.
“My plan is to continue to provide the most well-sourced, accurate and breaking high school recruiting information anywhere, with a focus on in-state kids,” Sautter said. “After nearly four years of honing my craft at the Omaha World-Herald and, before that, working on my own I am excited to join the Nebpreps team.
Sautter’s journey started in random gyms around Omaha helping an AAU team that started his Nebraska High School Recruiting website. And then, a trip to Virginia to see Omaha Central star Akoy Agau compete against the country’s best. He joined the World-Herald in April 2017.
“I am grateful to the journalist that I was able to learn from previously,” Sautter said. “I will forever be indebted to those people that took a chance on me and helped me along the way.
“I am equally as excited to join a cutting edge team that is focused on helping all students across the state and beyond.”
Siebert said that Sautter’s innovative ideas and passion for high school sports are a perfect fit to add to the Striv and Nebpreps families.
“The future of Nebpreps coverage is an exciting space,” Siebert added, “and we can’t wait to find new ways to connect with schools, athletes and fans through new media.”
Sautter will get right to work with the Nebpreps team covering Class A semifinal football on Friday night.
