Recruit Look — Lincoln Showcase Round Up

The Lincoln leg of the Recruit Look Hoops Crossover Culture was played in Lincoln from Friday through Sunday afternoon. Here is a round up of the action from the showcase games with teams from Nebraska.

Friday

Nebraska Supreme 78, Team KC 40

Jay Dawson (Omaha Central) led Supreme with 19 on 7-of-8 from the field. Sam Hastrieter (Lincoln Pius X) finished with 12 (6-8 FG) and eight rebounds.

Saturday

Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA 63, Team Knight Elite Black 43

Supreme fell behind early and trailed by 12 (31-19) at the half. The second half was a different story. Supreme outscored Team Knight by 22 to win 63-43.

A balanced scoring attack per usual helped Supreme get the win. Daniel Brocaille (Papillion-La Vista South) led Supreme with 11, Jay Dawson (Omaha Central) finished with 10 and Isaac Traudt (Grand Island) finished with eight and six rebounds.

OSA 17U 3SSB 70 Gym Time Hoops 66

OSA’s Josh scored 18 of his team-high 22 points in the second half. The Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln (Ia.) guard finished the game shooting 9-of-12 (1-3, 3FG) from the field and grabbed five rebounds.

Jailyn Spears (Omaha Bryan ’21) was the team’s second leading scorer with 18 and Reggie Thomas (Omaha Westside) 10.

OSA 16U 3SSB 66, Nebraska Supreme UAA 16U 50

OSA jumped out to an early lead and held a 14-point advantage (38-24) at the half behind 15 first half points from Omaha Westside’s Tate Odvody. ODvody finished with a team-high 17. Josiah Dotzler (Bellevue West) had 13, Jaxon Stueve (Bellevue West) and Millard South’s Mal Jal each had 10.

Supreme was led by Bellevue West guard TK Barnett with 22 and Wade Voss (Lincoln Southeast) 12.

Nebraska Supreme 17U UAA 73, OSA 17U 3SSB 55

Nebraska Supreme started fast and never looked back. OSA got as close as nine in the second half.

Millard North’s Jasen Green finished with a double-double, 13 points and 10 rebounds. Jay Dawson (Omaha Central) and William Kyle (Bellevue West) had 10 each for Supreme.

Josh Dix (Abraham Lincoln Council Bluffs, Ia) and Reggie Thomas (Omaha Westside) shared the game-high with 14 apiece.

OSA 16U 3SSB 81, Team KC 54

A back-and-forth first half resulted in OSA leading 35-32 at the half thanks in large part to Trey Moseman’s (Millard South) 12 first half points. A second half spurt from Pryce Sandfort (Waukee, Ia) and Josiah Dotzler (Bellevue West).

Sandfort had a team-high 20 on 7-of-12 (4-7, 3FG) with fifteen coming in the second half. OSA finished with four in double-figures. Sandfort, Connor Millikan (Platteview) 15, Dotzler 14 and Moseman 12.

Sunday

816 Hoops Cherepkai 70, OSA 16U 3SSB 60

OSA’s Tate Odvody (Omaha Westside) had a quick start with eight of OSA’s 11 points in the first six minutes. His team-high 13 first half points wasn’t enough as 816 Hoops held a 40-32 lead at the half.

OSA would cut the lead to six with just under six minutes left led by Pryce Sandfort’s (Waukee, Ia) eight second half points. Sandfort led OSA with 16 points and Odvody finished with 15.

OSA National Padilla 16U 60, Lincoln Supreme National II 55

OSA held off a late rally by Supreme to secure the 60-55 win. Carter Tempelmeyer (Lincoln East) led OSA with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Caden Stone (Elkhorn South) finished with 14 points and nine rebounds. Max Nosal (Archbishop Bergan) finished in double-figures with 10 points for OSA.

Supreme was led by Hayden Frank (Malcom) with 13 points. His teammate, Drew Johnson (Malcolm) finished with 12. Connor Hamilton (Lincoln East) and Christian Melessa both had 11.

OSA finished the weekend with a perfect (4-0) record.

Nebraska Supreme UAA 17U  63, 816 Hoops Burch 54

Behind a game-high 22 points from Isaac Traudt (Grand Island), Supreme overcame a slow start to post a 63-54 win. Traudt hauled down eight rebounds and went 11-of-12 at the free-throw line.

Supreme, which trailed 16-7 at one point in the first half, cut its deficit to 20-15 toward the end of the half and eventually tied 816 Hoops at 30 at halftime. Dan Brocaille (Papillion-La Vista South) scored all eight of his points in the game at the free-throw line in the first half for Supreme.

Jasen Green (Millard North) chipped in with 11 points and six boards while Chandler Meeks (Omaha Westside) added 10 points and three assists. William Kyle (Bellevue West) scored six points to go along with five boards.

Team KC 68,  Powerhouse Hoops Nebraska Skierka 17U 50

Ater Louis (Bellevue East ’21) led Powerhouse with nine points on 4-of-6 field goals and nine rebounds. Austin Holtz (Bennington) finished with nine points.

Nebraska Supreme UAA 15U 60, Nebraska United 48

Led by Landon Pokorski (Gretna), Nebraska Supreme 15UAA got a 60-48 win over Nebraska United.

Pokorski scored a team-high 17 points and hit three 3s in the win. Also scoring in double figures was Bhan Buom (Lincoln Southwest) and Eldon Turner (Bellevue West), who both had 10 points.

Jacob Arop (Omaha South) and Kajuan Sidney (North Star) each added eight points.
