Elkhorn North junior Britt Prince was announced as the 2022-23 Nebraska Girls Basketball Gatorade Player of the Year on Wednesday.
“I would like to thank my teammates, coaches and my family for always believing in me and supporting me,” Prince said of the honor. “I couldn’t have done this without them.”
Prince averaged 24.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game while leading the Wolves to their third consecutive Class B state title.
Prince joins recent Gatorade Nebraska Girls Basketball Players of the Year Taylor McCabe (2021-22, Fremont High School), Alexis Markowski (2020-21, Pius X High School), Morgan Maly (2019-20, Crete High School), and Jayme Horan (2018-19, Millard South High School), among the state’s list of former award winners.
