Nebraska Supreme 17UAA got off to a slow start in its final game Sunday at Speedway Sports Complex in Lincoln.
Supreme trailed MPJ Elite 15-7 midway through the first half and trailed 35-23 at halftime. But Supreme owned the second half and wound up winning 54-51 behind 13 points from Chandler Meeks (Omaha Westside) and 10 from Jayden Dawson (Omaha Central).
After trailing the entire game, Supreme grabbed a 49-48 edge with 2:45 left in the game thanks to a Daniel Brocaille (Papillion-La Vista South) layup. Supreme was able to defend well enough to keep MJP Elite at bay in the final moments.
Supreme had others chip in offensively in key moments. Tony Osburn (Mound City, Mo.) scored seven points while Ben Hunzeker (Lincoln Southwest) and Isaac Traudt (Grand Island) added six.
