Christian Jones quietly made two unofficial visits earlier this month. A visit to Iowa (March 5) and Wisconsin (March 6).
Jones, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound freshman holds four power conference scholarship offers to date. Nebraska, Iowa State, Kansas and Minnesota.
Last fall he took game day visits to Nebraska, Purdue, Northwestern and Iowa. This spring he attended junior day at Nebraska in February and plans to return for the NU spring game April 9.
“I will be at Nebraska’s spring game and Iowa State’s spring game in April,” he said. I will try to get to as many spring games or practices as I can.”
Nebraska views him as an inside linebacker in their 3-4 defense, similar to fellow Burke grad Nick Heinrich. Wisconsin views Jones as an outside linebacker while the Hawkeyes have discussed both.
Jones will make a decision on where he will play football collegiately in due time. Where he will play high school football next season has been decided.
After 16 seasons at Omaha Burke coach Paul Limongi accepted the job to lead Omaha Westside last month. Jones, the prized in-state recruit in the 2025 class has decided to follow him to Westside.
“I really like the way Limongi coaches,” Jones said of his decision. “His coaching style and his beliefs. I love the way it’s about more than football and being a man. It’s more than football and he values his players and their everyday life.”
