The state baseball tournaments are scheduled to begin this Saturday. The Class A tournament will be in Lincoln at three locations: Den Hartog Field, Sherman Field and Haymarket Park. The Class B state tournament will be at Werner Park in Omaha.

Here are Class A players to watch as the state tournament starts:
Carter Sintek, Junior, Archbishop Bergan: Sintek is batting .467 with 20 runs batted in and a team-high 35 hits for the Knights (16-7), who come in as the No. 7 seed of the Class A playoffs. He’s also scored a team-best 27 runs and owns a 5-4 record on the mound with a 3.58 earned-run average.
Cal Janke, Junior, Archbishop Bergan: Janke, an outfielder, is hitting .319 with 20 RBIs. Like his teammate Sintek, he’s scored 20 runs this season for head coach Jeff Hayden’s club.
Carson Wright, Senior, Bellevue West: The Bellevue West Thunderbirds (27-4) are the No. 2 seed of the tournament, and Wright is one of the players leading the way. He has three home runs and a team-high 47 RBIs to go with a .441 average at the plate.
Daniel Lester, Junior, Bellevue West: The pitcher/outfielder Lester has the most homers on the team with five and has 30 RBIs. He’s hitting .409 on 93 at-bats this season for head coach Jason Shockey’s squad.
Jack Bland, Senior, Bellevue West: Bland, a pitcher, catcher and infielder for the Thunderbirds, is batting .419 with 31 RBIs this season. He also has a 4-2 record on the mound.
Colin Flyr, Senior, Columbus: Leading the No. 8-seeded Discoverers (18-13) is Flyr, a pitcher/outfielder. Flyr has a .378 average in 90 at-bats this season. He has the most hits on the team with 34 to go along with 12 RBIs and one homer.
Brent Beard, Senior, Columbus: The pitcher/catcher Beard, an Iowa Western Community College baseball commit, is hitting .362 in 69 at-bats this season. He has 10 RBIs and scored 11 runs.
Kaden Young, Senior, Columbus: With runners in scoring position, Young is the Discoverers’ most dangerous hitter according to the numbers. The Northeast Community College baseball commit has a team-best 16 RBIs.
Keegan Brink, Junior, Lincoln East: Leading the No. 3-seeded Spartans (21-8) into the state tournament is Brink, who is batting a team-high .511 with 37 RBIs and 12 doubles. He’s also tied for the team lead in homers with five.
Cooper Erikson, Junior, Lincoln East: Erickson is batting .390, which ranks second on the Spartans, with 30 RBIs and five home runs.
Sam Wragge, Senior, Lincoln East: Wragge, a Hutchinson Community College baseball commit, is one of the top pitchers for head coach Mychal Lanik’s team. He owns a 5-2 record on the mound, has a team-best 51 strikeouts in 40 innings of work and has a 1.05 ERA.
Max Petersen, Senior, Lincoln Southwest: Petersen, a Nebraska baseball commit, leads the No. 6-seeded Silver Hawks (19-10) into the tournament. The shortstop has five home runs, 22 RBIs, a .302 batting average and 33 runs scored — most on the team.
Will Johnson, Senior, Lincoln Southwest: Johnson, a Mount Marty baseball commit, is leading head coach Mitch Vernon’s Southwest team in hits with 34 and batting average with .395. He has 21 RBIs this season, too.
Ethan Morrow, Senior, Lincoln Southwest: Morrow, a Southeast Community College baseball commit, is batting .374 with 23 RBIs for the Silver Hawks, who open the state tournament with Lincoln East.
Brayden Smith, Junior, Millard South: Millard South (30-4) is the top dog at the state tournament this season, owning the No. 1 seed. And Smith, a pitcher/infielder/outfielder, is leading the way. He’s tied for the team lead in homers with four and has a team-high 36 RBIs to go with his .351 average. He also has the most triples with five.
Camden Kozeal, Sophomore, Millard South: One of the Patriots’ top players is just a sophomore in Kozeal, a pitcher/shortstop. Kozeal is batting .396 with a team-high 44 hits. He has 27 RBIs and is tied with Smith for most homers on the team with four.
Nate Moquin, Junior, Millard South: Moquin, a Nebraska baseball commit, is one of the Patriots’ top pitchers. He has a team-best 38 strikeouts in 41 1/3 innings of work. He also owns a 2.37 ERA on the mound.
Drew Borner, Junior, Millard West: Borner, an infielder, is hitting .344 with a team-high 24 RBIs this season for the Wildcats (24-11), who come into the tournament as the No. 5 seed. Borner also has 33 hits and one home run.
Maddux Fleck, Junior, Millard West: Fleck, a Creighton baseball commit, has a team-high 37 hits for head coach Steve Frey’s team. He’s hitting .336 with 19 RBIs and six doubles, which is most on the club.
Jaxson Cahoy, Junior, Millard West: Cahoy has a team-leading 63 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings. He’s 5-1 on the bump this season and owns a 1.07 ERA. Cahoy, along with Nebraska commit Seth Novotny (junior, 2.26 ERA, 48 Ks) provide a strong 1-2 punch for the Wildcats.
Jackson Trout, Senior, Papillion-La Vista South: Trout, an infielder/outfielder, is having a heck of a season for the Titans (20-8), who enter the tournament and the No. 4 seed. Trout is batting .468 with two home runs, 38 RBIs and 37 hits.
Garrett Freeman, Senior, Papillion-La Vista South: Freeman, an Iowa Western Community College baseball commit, has a team-leading three homers for the Titans. He’s hitting .300 with 22 RBIs and 21 hits.
Brayden Curtis, Senior, Papillion-La Vista: Curtis is a Southeast Community College commit and a versatile player for head coach Bill Lynam’s Titans. On the mound, Curtis has a 2.61 ERA with a team-high 55 strikeouts. In the batter’s box, he’s hitting .417 in 60 at-bats with 12 RBIs and one homer.
