The Lincoln East Spartans baseball team stayed undefeated with an 11-1 win in five innings on a very windy Monday at Sherman Field in Lincoln.
East improved to 8-0 on the season while Grand Island dropped to 1-2. The Spartans got a solid performance on the mound from Sam Wragge, who had seven strikeouts with no walks in five innings of work. Wragge gave up just three hits and one run in the win.
Brayan Van Meter led East offensively. He went 3-for-3 with three RBI, including a two-run single in the bottom of the third that gave his team a 6-0 lead. Jaelyn Welch and Keegan Brink both had two hits for head coach Mychal Lanik’s team.
