Bellevue West defensive lineman Caden Camese is the latest Nebraskan in the 2022 class to head west. Thursday afternoon, the 6-foot-2, 280-pound defensive tackle announced his commitment to Air Force via twitter.
“They were the first school that took a chance on me and I built a good relationship with all of the coaches,” Camese said of his commitment. “It seemed like the right decision and I had a lot of conversations with family, friends and coaches. It was just the right decision for me.”
Camese chose Air Force over scholarship offers from Lehigh, Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Southeast Missouri State, Dartmouth and Army.
The Air Force is a family thing for Camese. The decision was more than just football.
“My parents are both military and I have a lot of family that are military,” he said. “I was even thinking about going into the Air Force if football didn’t work out. I want to be a fighter pilot, so it’s the best of both worlds.”
Rickels becomes the third Nebraskan in the 2022 class to commit to the Falcons, joining his Bellevue West teammate Henry Rickels and Omaha Westside’s Dom Rezac.
