Class C-2 Playoff Roundup: Oakland-Craig Wins on Final Play


Oakland-Craig advanced in the Class C-2 playoffs on Friday night when – on the final play of the game – a snap went over the head of the Shelby-Rising City punter’s head and was recovered in the end zone by the Knights to give them a 28-22 victory.

Jeffy McNeil had a receiving touchdown and also rushed for 105 yards on nine carries for Oakland-Craig while Robby Mayberry had 91 rushing yards on 26 carries and Jarred Mulder scored twice on the ground for Oakland-Craig.

Of the eight first-round games on Friday, the only upset was 10th-seeded Aquinas Catholic taking a 38-14 victory over seventh-seeded Doniphan-Trumbull.
